Consider this gift for yourself or anyone that wants to make a BIG statement.

It is a great board for a large party or saying wow with a big board and any size spread. A larger board serves multiple uses: a built-in serving platter, or an auxiliary counter space. Finally, leaning your beautiful board up against a wall, also just looks good.

As with a sharp knife, there is hardly a dish that comes out of your kitchen that doesn’t require at least one cutting board. Plus, who wants to chase food all over the counter or the floor? Larger wooden boards are likely to be heavier, and they won’t slide around as easily. Often food isn’t necessarily small, and your board shouldn’t be, either.

When it comes to cutting boards, bigger is better. Small cutting boards are fine when using a paring knife, although consider this assessment:

FYI: Hard Maple wood, which is also referred to as Sugar Maple, Rock Maple, and White Maple Wood, typically comes from the Northeast and Midwest regions of the U.S. The sapwood ranges from an off-white cream color to almost white, with the rare occasion of a reddish or golden hue. The heartwood is a straight grain and often is a darker reddish-brown.

White Oak is generally produced in the Eastern region of North America and occasionally in the Midwest. Its grain pattern is what is known as plain sawn. Plain sawn White Oak has a cathedral grain pattern with a varying amount of vertical or rift grain on the edges. Other grain patterns are rift sawn, quarter sawn, or a combination of the two. The heartwood color is a pale/light to medium brown, with the sapwood color from a light cream to tan with the occasional gray stain. Red Oak or Northern Red Oak has a light to medium reddish-brown color, and there can be a large color variation. The sapwood is often white to light brown.

Proportions may vary based upon the wood type and availability.

Due to the nature of natural wood, variance in grain and/or color may occur. Wash with warm soapy water, dry completely before storing, and apply mineral oil. Made in the U.S.A.
